This is a very thorough and in-depth breakdown of what happened to the American dream. As an 80s baby, it’s something that I heard about all of the time growing up, and especially when I went off to college. But it’s just not there anymore and the author here does a great job of explaining why - and if it’s done intentionally.

Great examples of how the American dream is full of people that have fallen in to the debt trap and didn't even see if coming. The biggest debt young people face is student loans the go to college and have to pay that debit until there adult hood buy then there trying to start a life then they get a credit card and so on so forth until there drowning in debit. I had to share this book with my son who just graduated and is getting ready to start the real world hopefully without all the debt

I actually loved reading this book and financial history is usually boring to me. The explanation of the Great Recession was thorough and full of intrigue. The design of the credit system seemed downright sinister. This is definitely not your average dry financial literacy book.

I think that the book contains a good overview of the topic! This is a vital, gritty financial wake-up call after reading the book. There is structural knowledge and psychological tools to fight back and take control of their future. There are good suggestions in the book; I like the book for having the details!
